Frequent Questions from Families

What ages do children need to be to attend an All Abilities Activity Club subscription group or class?

For events that are directly provided from All Abilities Activity Club subscriptions, we offer groups for children ages 1 year through 18 years ( if you have never had an IEP) and age 22 years of age if you have ever had an IEP.

What type of disabilities are welcome to attend? My child has a more profound disability and can become agitated at times.

We warmly welcome individuals of all abilities to participate in our subscriber and registered group events and activities. Our programs are designed with small participant-to-staff ratios to promote engagement, enhance learning opportunities, and help reduce stress for both participants and caregivers.

We understand that every day can look different for each individual, and we prioritize flexibility and safety in every setting. Our team is trained to assist with redirection, elopement prevention, and individualized support strategies as needed.

All hired support staff complete Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) coursework, First Aid and CPR certification, and ongoing continuing education to ensure quality, evidence-based care and inclusive participation.

If your child or participant has unique needs, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are happy to collaborate with you to create a comfortable, safe, and supportive plan for participation.

How do we handle the situation if my child is having a behavior or becoming agitated?

Safety is always our highest priority. As a parent or caregiver, you know your child best — you are the expert on their needs, preferences, and comfort.

During our group sessions, our team will make every effort to provide support through redirection, a calm or lower-stimulus environment, or a brief breakout session as needed. We will also adjust support plans in real time to help each participant succeed while maintaining a positive and inclusive group experience.

If, despite these efforts, a participant becomes unsafe to themselves or others, it is completely acceptable to take a break from that day’s event and return the following week. We understand that every child has unique needs and rhythms, and there is never any judgment in making the best decision for your child.

Our environment is built on empathy, respect, and understanding — a truly judgment-free zone where families can feel supported and safe.

What makes this program different than other free or low cost community social activities?

The All Abilities Activity Club is more than a social gathering — it’s a structured, inclusive program intentionally designed to meet the diverse needs of children and teens with and without disabilities. Unlike typical free community events, our sessions are staffed by trained professionals with backgrounds in behavior support, special education, or healthcare. Every group maintains small participant-to-staff ratios to promote safety, individualized attention, and meaningful engagement.

We integrate therapeutic and educational principles into fun, age-appropriate activities, creating opportunities for social growth, emotional regulation, and skill development — not just entertainment. Our model also emphasizes caregiver partnership, recognizing that families are the experts on their children and deserve a supportive, judgment-free space to connect and participate.

Additionally, our new ang growing, nonprofit partnership  will allow us to provide scholarships, adaptive equipment, and inclusive programming in the future. This ensures accessibility, consistency, and belonging — values that set us apart from typical drop-in or one-time community events
